us Govvie contractors here in the DC area, got a day off next Friday due to the inauguration.  Government is shutting down in the local area due to the amount of expected road closures and heightened state of security...

I'm a government contractor, but I will be working.  I'm all the way on the left coast though, so the only traffic for us will be caused by protesters.

Most folks here took the day off anyway or worked from home because their kids had the day off from school. Go figure...

Well, not a "free" holiday anymore.  :( I can choose to use my vacation time if I want to get paid for the day.
