Nice post dude! Basic stuff to start off with and introduce us network guys/gals into this stuff.

Keep it up!

I was thinking about doing a pile of them
try/except
ciscoconfparse
etc

I'll need to try and figure out if it's popular, if so I'll do more.

Blah popular or not I say just do em. They help you learn and solidify your knowledge so its a win. If they pick up and are popular great. But this will help get your name out there and free exposure. Cant beat that!

I cant remember does the PP dashboard show stats and hit counts and such? If not Im sure you can hit Drew up and ask for them.

I find cookbook style post to be very hit or miss on my blogging. Sometimes the ones I think would be the most popular dont get crap for hits. Then stupid shit I throw together gets 10x the hits. Who knows.

Ok, good advice :-)

I'll try and do another one once the current one gets knocked off the front page :-)

When I did my 1st post I found the hit counters, but for the life of me I can't find them now.

I e-mailed Ethan to see if he could tell me where how to find them.

it's awsome to have a place to go after CA.  Creating scripts full of dictionaries, lists, and functions can only be fun for so long.
need somewhere else to go after CA graduation.
