Different courts, different rulings.

This one only blocks imports, so if Arista builds gear in the USA for sale in the USA, no big whoop. But if Arista can argue successfully a few other points, then it won't have the blocking at all.

This is why people hire lawyers. If only lawyers treated their IT people better, then there would be more of us working for them...

My understanding is the import court said "These infringe on two patents you need to stop doing that." However, in a different trial at a patent court it was found those two patents are invalid, and were revoked. After that ruling Arista went back to the import court and said "Those patents don't exist anymore, and we want to keep importing" However, the import court has not made up their mind before the date Arista couldn't import stuff anymore. So in my non-lawyer mind this is not really an issue, and once the import court gets around to making a decision the ban will be lifted. Of course lawyers and the actual laws/rulings don't always make sense.

Also import court sounds funny when you say it.

I am just hoping this does not cause any issues for the order I just got approved. Our finance/purchasing groups can take awhile to move money around so if this is cleared up in a couple days I should be good. Does Arista do any manufacturing in the US?
