We are looking at purchasing some Fiber Optic Power Meter and Light Sources to test the fiber on our campus. We are using multimode fiber and do not have any runs over 100M long. From what I can tell that means we would only be testing at the 850nm wavelength. Is this correct.
Also is the wavelength only determined by MM or SM fiber and the distance it runs? At what time would we need to test at 1300nm?
