Does anyone here have one of these?
I got mine back in 2017 and after a small play (mainly listening to local taxis) I put it away until I could order a fit-for-purpose antenna; because all I had was a telescopic RF antenna that came with it.
I have a wifi antenna for this now (actually the antenna came off my bluetooth console thing and they're the same antenna you get on the Cisco 877 (that style). I'll try and get this up and running over the weekend:

How did it go?
1. antenna does screw in but both ends are female and so doesnt work. As I was at home, I got some kitchen foil and made a pin. Antenna works fine after that but had issue number 2
2. cannot zoom out enough (using mobile phone) to use it as a spectrum analyser although was able to pick up FM with the bluetooth antenna, because FM is strong.
3. wasnt able to get it working with the laptop because of windows / java issues... ideally I need an ubuntu laptop. I've just got a new work laptop (windows) and I need to work on dev solution again so will have a Linux laptop soon.
I'm on leave from Friday until next week so will pick this up again some-other-time.
I might make a low frequency antenna for fun.
Do you have an electronic parts supplier near you? A female-female connector would probably be better than the foil, just sayin'. :smug:
Yes I do agree with you, but it was late one evening and I was annoyed that I didn't notice it before :) Tin foil pin worked though ðŸ¤
I could see the wifi signals but not with any clarity or anything that would be of any use... A wifi signal LED would have done a better job (you know how the network NIC ports used to flash during activity, but the newer ones dont seem to bother...). In the screen output you have a low level of noise (cosmic microwave background I think) and then you see a flash or rather a pulse of high energy which is similar to the NIC link activity. But because (to put it simply) I couldnt zoom out enough to see the whole wifi channel frequency (eg 2432mhz with 20MHz width) I just see what is almost like a jagged line across the screen. Interesting for a few minutes but not much more. I will get a proper connector / antennae and have another go :)
