I got an idea for a post-it note resume. Basically, list only the information you absolutely NEED to get a job with a manager you've already had a good conversation with. Mine looks like this:
Dean Webb (cell # and personal email)
2017-present: Solution Architect at $VENDOR
2013-2017: Network Security Engineer at Global Megacorp
2002-2013: Teacher
Done. :smug:
What does YOUR post-it note resume look like?
Tony P. (mob no. and personal email)
2014-present: Infrastructure Lead at small-private-company
2013-2014: Network Engineer at IT Solutions in Australia
2007-2013: Network Engineer at IT Solutions in London
2005-2007 = 2nd line desktop support. So not really worthwhile adding to CV. Around the same time (2003/4) studying for ccna.
Good point about leaving stuff off that's over 10 years old. It's not really worthwhile. :)
As for the rest, great, you got 12 years of networking experience. Whatever you haven't seen, you're ready to see. :)
I'm just about ready for anything technical that anyone wants to throw at me.... Devs can't work kubernetes? Give me 2 weeks to learn kubernetes basics then I can help them. Need a machine learning system designed and built using multiple nvidia gpu's? No problem, where's the company credit card. 🙈
Name (cell and email)
LinkedIn Profile URL
2016-present: Global Network Infrastructure Lead at Large Enterprise
2006-2016: Systems Engineer at MSP/IT Consultancy Firm
2006-2016: Network Engineer at WISP
2004-2006: Network/Systems Tech at IT Consultancy Firm
I have always struggled with how to put my 2006-2016 work history even on my actual resume because I basically held two different positions with two different businesses which were both owned by the same parent company.
given this some thought over the past few days
Mine would be something like
David R. ( cell and email)
2014 - 2019 Improved complex network security situations at the Federal level
2012 - 2017 Resolved complex network routing and switching issues at the Federal level
2005 - 2012 Validated network routing and switching architectures at the commercial level,
see; trying to add value in there, not just a title and company.

Yeah, but I still just see 14 years of networking experience. :problem?:
