Title: Vendor Email Nagging
Post by: deanwebb on September 10, 2021, 09:19:48 AM
I have an old Windows 7 laptop that I've retired. It had TrendMicro AV on it and because it's now a doorstop, I stopped the subscription for that laptop.

I got emails about how I still had a chance to turn it back on before it expired, but I let those slide. That's normal stuff.

Then I got an email today that asked "Are you feeling lucky? It's been 3 weeks since your TrendMicro expired."

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn, that's pretty brassy of them.

My counter was to scroll down and find the unsubscribe link.  :smug:

I know what you are thinking. 'Did I install six patches or only five'? Well to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kind of lost track myself. But being this is ransomware, the most powerful malware in the world, and would encrypt all your data, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

^ "Did I install six patches or only five?" Sounds like emergency change management.
