Title: Aruba Captive Portal invalid Cert workaround
Post by: johnbenedicto on January 22, 2024, 12:10:36 AM
Hi Team,

Our Office racks are completely network devices and we have no on-prem servers.

The issue is whenever we connects to the Guest Captive Portal. It redirects to an invalid certificate issue that we need to press continue first before we sign in to the device. We are also redirects to securelogin.arubanetworks.com which is has the invalid certificate.

Can you give us work around on how to avoid this invalid certificate inside the local device as we have lots of VIP Guest Clients which have negative thoughts on the initial login for Guests SSID.

Here is the device:

Aruba 535 version 8.9.0.2 (controllerless)

The guest network needs to have a hole in the ACL that permits traffic back to arubanetworks.com on port TCP 443 so that the certificate authority for the cert in question can be contacted.
