Management Tools / Infoblox Webinars: no form required
December 13, 2016, 01:16:30 PM
When I download a white paper or watch on demand  webinars, I get annoyed having to fill out the contact form details. Therefore, if I'm in the mood, I try to find a way around it. If not, I'll just use a temp email service.

Nevertheless, figured out infoblox's pattern.

Choose a video, any video
https://www.infoblox.com/resources/?category=Webinars

Link will be:
http://info.infoblox.com/resources-webinars-title-of-webinar

Change to:

For instance:

Wireless / Re: Sniffing Wireless Authentication Requests

I found the solution to this, at least for my situation, a while ago. Just wanted to update in case someone stumbles upon this thread :)

http://wifinigel.blogspot.com/2014/08/cisco-wlc-per-client-packet-capture.html

The commands I used, I believe, were:

config ap packet-dump ftp serverip <ip-address> path <path> username <user_ID> password <password>
config ap packet-dump classifier dot1x enable
config ap packet-dump classifier data enable
config ap packet-dump start <client-mac-address> <ap-name>

After I disconnected and joined the two dot1x SSID's, I stopped the packet capture

config ap packet-dump stop

Today I learned, PSTN supports a QoS equivalent

QuoteGETS (Government Emergency Telecommunications Services) is used by government and other designated personnel during crises or emergencies to provide priority processing for local and long distance calls on the public switched telephone network.

Security / Fortinet Training???

They have a "cookbook" you can download, but rest of their online documentation is seriously lacking :( I normally have to search the webs, even a few pages deep, to find a post explaining what a command really does

Also, I've been using them at this gig for that last two years, so may be able to help with something

I personally feel there are good and bad dudes/ettes in all departments. I just hate IT phonies, just bodies that are taking up a full time position that need their hand held to do anything above basic.

Security / Re: Cisco GetVPN and EIGRP
January 20, 2015, 07:51:48 PM
Not helpful in finding you a solution, but gots me a question:

QuoteThat is why we've come up with the idea to set up those floating static routes on a remote router pointing it to the key-server routers and then the same on the key-server routers.  The group-member router then contacts the key-server router and gets the crypto up and working.  At that point EIGRP would be able to communicate and the EIGRP adjacency would come up and edge out the static route since it would have a higher AD value than the default EIGRP one.

This sounds like it will put the encrypted traffic destined for the VPN endpoint over the VPN tunnel o.O

Or is the key_server and the tunnel endpoint two different devices? In that regards, do the VPN end points need to communicate with the key-server after the tunnel is established?

As for monitoring, does GetVPN support Dead Peer Detection? If one side isn't encrypting and the opposite supports DPD, I'd think it would tear down the tunnel.

Have you read through this wiki article on the Wireshark site?

http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/WLAN
didnt't see that one yet. I'll take a read :)

well of course I tried that :)

But it doesn't see any EAP requests when I filter it down to EAP. My suspicion is maybe Windows sees the interface as "down" until after it associates with the AP...

Wireless / Sniffing Wireless Authentication Requests
January 12, 2015, 01:03:59 PM
From my Win7 box, is there a way to sniff the authentication traffic between me and the AP, locally? Or will I need to use another machine, on the wireless, to see this traffic?

AirPrint, AirPlay, etc. use multicast DNS (mDNS) to register and request services.  Basically, service providing devices such as printers send a link-local multicast to register their services, while clients send a link-local multicast to request services.  This breaks at L3 boundaries
Wonder if Cisco's ip-helper would help with this? If mDNS server supports it, it would be much like a centralized DHCP server. Not entirely sure how the clients would find the printers tho... Just a thought

Management Tools / Re: Visio Stencils
January 12, 2015, 08:06:23 AM
I've moved away from visio, myself. In their 2010 version, I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out their dynamic connectors. So I've moved to inkscape and manually draw the connectors. It's a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite easy.
