Wireless / Re: wireless access issue

we had a 10.0.0.0/8 for one of the entries, it should have covered the network but I added a network for the actual wireless networks.

I am going to check the ad sites and services, we are using a mandatory profile, not roaming. similar but not quite the same. this is to keep the kiddies from changing the systems.

Wireless / wireless access issue
February 11, 2015, 10:09:54 AM
We have a classroom that has about 30 machines. All connect wireless. when the machines login, they hang and take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to complete the logon process. During  testing we found that the machines are hanging on the windows profile service. All are win 7 and use Extreme wireless to connect. The big caveat is the card drivers are Winxp. Wired computers work fine.

Networking is blaming the windows profile. Desktop support is blaming the network. There are three access points in the room.

I am looking for ideas on what is happening and how to fix it. Wiring the room is not an option...

Thanks for the assistance on the vlans, our entire network is segmented out the wazoo. The servers are on one vlan and the other networks are on differing vlans.  We just replaced all our cisco gear with extreme. what we could do is make sure that the printers are on the same vlan as the printers.  We currently have several wireless networks that are distributed throughout the campus.

More research has been indicated.

Thanks

We are basically a windows shop and we have some IPads that need to print to on our network. We have a windows 2012r2 server that is set up for our windows clients. Also have  all new dell printers that have airprint turned on.  We cannot see the printers from the IPads  (Using Airprint and Bonjour) but can see the printers via web page. My thinking is that the airprint protocol isn't being passed over the wireless network.

Anyone see this before and have a clue?

we had this problem-- the issue was in DNS. are you getting long logon times? I cleaned up our DNS and the problem went away. We had a few bad entries. Check you name server records. I have a former intern that can help out as well. he deleted the entire DNS database.
