My company reimburses the cost of the exam on successful completion with the condition that you will retain your employment with the company for at least another 12 months.

I don't think about work when I leave...at all. I might check email every now and then but I don't constantly think about any problems I have to solve or any work which I haven't yet finished. In my previous life I was a manager at a large retail chain here in Australia. Not only did that take up more of my day than it should of (think 10-12hr days) but also I was thinking about the days ahead and how to manage the workload once home.

Now when I get home I watch TV, play PC games, drink (that's a popular one), and once or twice a week I do tenpin bowling too.

I'm planning on completing my CCNP R&S this year. I've done SWITCH, just need to do ROUTE and TSHOOT. I did SWITCH in June last year and took a little break then planned on going back to ROUTE half way through November last year however found out they changed the curriculum for the CCNP R&S. I figured there was no point in doing the old exams so I'm going to do the new ones when Amazon hurry up and get the new set of Cisco Press to me.

As for anything else, not sure, depends where my job takes me I guess. I've only recently started a new role (see my sig) and am proud to say this is my first role in a professional networking environment!

Quote from: deanwebb on January 06, 2015, 04:59:26 PMTrue, but if it is expired or retired, that should be noted. It would be wrong to present myself as fully knowledgeable on Windows Server 2012 when my MCSE expired about ten years or so ago and the last sever I touched was Windows Server 2000. If I don't renew my CCNP, then I will note it's expired if I note it at all.

Absolutely agree, note that it has expired but still worth noting it nonetheless.

I built my house two years ago and purposefully had Cat6 run everywhere in the house to suit my needs. It all runs back to my laundry cabinet where I have a small cabinet with a patch panel sitting on the top shelf with patch leads running into a HP Procurve 1810G 24-port GigE switch.

I don't see any issue with leaving a cert on your resume whether expired or not, and also whether it's relevant to the job you're going for. After all it shows your potential employer that you may be willing to complete further study which they may see as a value add to their business if they were to employ you.
