Are you doing any of the Breakout sessions?

I'd like to, but I can only swing a couple of days away from my workload. Most likely Tuesday and Wednesday.

It's only a few hours away and seemed like a decent excuse to go to Vegas before it gets too hot out there. I've never been, does anyone have any experience with it?

I found another item which may suit but I'm confused to how this works:
https://www.mwave.com.au/product/aten-ka7175-usb-and-vga-virtual-media-kvm-adapter-aa78886

What goes into the RJ45 plug? An IP network or some other KVM device?
We have a few racks that use these. Ours just use a cat5 cable to connect to a switch box, not an IP network. Makes for easy cable routing vs VGA+USB/PS2.

I've seen this with a few clients lately. It used to be that for me, if I left it overnight, all 200+ updates would eventually install. However, it seems to freeze at checking for updates infinitely. My workaround was to restart the machine after an hour and it would install "some" of the updates. Then rinse/repeat a few times and all was good.

What, is this you?

The young ones!!! Haven't seen those guys since I was just a kid staying up late with my older brother. We used to do the voices and the rear facing peace sign to each other.

That's what I was wondering specifically, if ROUTE covered something that was beneficial to know for SWITCH or vice versa. Thanks.  Books will be here on Tuesday!

I think the wisdom here is it's a coin flip between the two, but do both first and then TSHOOT is a piece of cake.
Thanks Dean

P.S. Thank you for this forum!

Certifications and Careers / CCNP Q's

Heyo, I thought I would finally launch my CCNP  studies and I have a quick question for those with experience and mojo (y'all). What order did you take SWITCH and ROUTE, and why? I work primarily with layer 2/3 switched networks so I thought SWITCH, but maybe ROUTE is the way to go?

Thanks

I just saw these guys on Saturday. They still sound good. Matisyahu opened for them, and he was decent as well. Who am I kidding, it was at the Rhythm Wine and Brews festival so there's no telling what they really sounded like :)

I would be more likely to believe Microsoft's press release if Belichick hadn't said "It's a pretty common problem... we've had it at home, we've had it on the road. Other teams have had it. It's a fairly common problem."

Dean, you always have great stories. If I was closer to Texas I'd buy you a shot and a beer of your choice!

Microsoft is sad that you haven't upgraded to windows 10 yet...

I wonder if it will break that fancy cable of yours?

Last time that I saw it, the program started working on local folders on the user's hard drive, then went out to mapped drives. It only affected/encrypted specific file types such as word and excel, pdf files, etc that are common. There's several versions of it out in the wild, and each is a little different. Some versions can be manually unencrypted using utilities from antivirus/antimalware vendors. Others need to be restored from backup.

Some trance I think is like modern day classical music. Other trance is utter shite. I go to the podcasts:

http://www.aboveandbeyond.nu/abgt
http://ms54.com/podcasts/
http://oakenfold.libsyn.com/ <- this guy is a local to me from England, although this isn't trance
http://tiesto.com/podcasts/
https://djpod.com/corstenscountdown
http://fsoe-recordings.com/fsoepodcast/fsoepod.xml
http://www.galexmusic.com/podcast/gareth.xml

although not listened to much of these lately, usually only when I fly.
I make it a point to see Above & Beyond whenever they're in SoCal. It's always worth it. Tiƫsto live has been hit or miss for me, but I always enjoy his club life podcasts. Oops forgot this is a study thread...
