Watching an SNMPWALK complete is less fun than examining packet captures, but more fun than waiting for backups to complete.
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

Accounting is architecture, remember that!
Air gaps are high-latency Internet connections.

Careful! If you have too much fun your head might explode.

You're right. I better ease up on these wiresharks. I'm getting too excited when I see a RADIUS code 3 packet...

Anything is more fun than a "My internet is slow" ticket
A "I can't find my: Phone" ticket is more fun that hitting your finger with a hammer...
But complaining about the fact that I have a ticket that 100% the information in the ticket is "I can't find my: Phone"..... that's it.... and yet it's a network problem... that's pretty fun!!

Having to suddenly redesign a network plan because of China's restrictive Internet access laws is a total hoot. All the stuff that was going to go over a local internet breakout? Yeah, it's now going over a high-cost MPLS link.

For fun, today I'm changing my Jabber presence status to: Available, but not "available available"
:awesome:

I think I solved the problem I'm working on about 12 hours ago, but couldn't tell until now, when the site is back online. Nice sort of giddyness when it all comes down to my being able to look at the file I asked for TWELVE DAYS AGO.

Fun for me is when users complain about lack of VPN connectivity, then ya call them and you verify they have authenticated to the network VPN, but you then find out that they are having issues with Citrix, then ya gotta find a nice way to tell them wrong department and kick the ticket back to the service desk and get them requeued in the Citrix queue for another long wait. :joy:

Yes, I have learned that China is both difficult and expensive for network teams.  :wall:

I don't really get this anymore but used to get complaints that "the VPN is not working". Then you find out they've logged into the clientless portal and not clicked "start anyconnect".

fun is when you have to do a change and somehow is not going through all the approval stages (here even for a simple ACL i have to write a document and get it approved by 2/3 people at least-does not matter if they are relevant with IT or not) .
Then after many days or weeks someone asks you , you got the approvals? Well CM move my ticket to 'ready to implement stage' so feel free to ask him :D

This is fun, PM fights with CM :D

Very high levels of fun are to be had in explaining a strange case for the first time to another engineer that needs to back you up on the case. It's very reassuring to hear him have the same reactions and conclusions that I had.
