Reading through the release notes of CUPS 11.5 (IM&Presence). Noticed a few things in there which seem a bit strange to me. OF course the documentation may be correct but:

Looking at the notes specifically for Multi-Device-Messaging (where IM's are delivered to all of your signed in devices, a bit like Google Hangout. Something which we've been waiting for since I implemented this back in early 2014.) I'm aware that this feature is already available to Jabber customers who utilise Jabber through their WebEx subscription (ie jabber in the cloud).

Quote"MDM is supported by all Jabber clients from version 11.7 and higher."
- Whilst I've not tested this yet, 11.7 is still in Beta. So I'd like to know how MDM (multi device messaging) has been provided to jabber cloud customers to date.

Quote"Multiple Device Messaging Flow
This flow describes how messages and notifications are handled when a user, Alice, has MDM enabled on her laptop and mobile device.

Alice has a Jabber client open on her laptop, and is also using Jabber on her mobile device.
Alice receives an instant message (IM) from Bob. Her laptop receives a notification and displays a new message indicator. Her mobile device receives a new message with no notification.
Note
IMs are always sent to all MDM-enabled clients. Notifications are displayed either on the active Jabber client only or, if no Jabber client is active, notifications are sent to all Jabber clients.
Alice chats with Bob for 20 minutes. Alice uses her laptop as normal to do this, while on her mobile device new messages are received and are marked as read. No notifications are sent to her mobile device.
When Alice receives three chat messages from a third user, Colin, Alice's devices behave as they did in step 2.
Alice does not respond, and closes the lid on her laptop. While on the bus home Alice receives another message from Bob. In this case, both her laptop and mobile device receive a new message with notifications."

I'm interested to know how messages are delivered to a sleeping or hibernating laptop? The only time I've seen a laptop still powered up when the lid is closed is when there is something wrong with Windows and it's not initiated sleep.

I could be a bit pedantic here. But at very least it's a chuckle.

YAY for MDM! (And probably a world of new bugs, too).

Also in the documentation somewhere it lists we must use Expressway version 8.8 to support MDM to MRA users. However the latest release is 8.7.3.

Don't worry, it'll be released real soon now.
