Hey Everyone, I have been MIA for a bit and saw a few threads related to a "Slack" channel for the forum. Did that ever come to fruition? I would love to join if there is one.

wintermute000

that's a good idea, esp given that I feel like all the regulars know each other, far more likely to take your word for something than random redditor XYZ

I am in 2 other Slack rooms now and I really like it. Neither one has been overwhelming.

I got stumped on trying to set one up for people not all in the same domain. If anyone here would like to do it or talk me through it, I could give it another swing.

I also looked at a real-time chat function for the forums, but those things got nasty on me. None were easy or even moderately hard to configure, unless they cost way more than I was willing to spend.

I just created the team room. It is called networkingforums.slack.com

Either post or PM me your email addresses and I will send you all invites to join the room.

deanwebb is my username, zzzptm my domain name and it is in the dot-com part of the Internets.

Please send me an invite, unless you are a robot that cannot harvest my email from the above statement. :D

Invite sent sir. (BTW, forum notifications do not appear to be working for me)

I was going to ask for an invite but I found that I cannot hit Slack from work at all.  Wouldn't be much point since I don't do much of this after-hours.

LynK

I am interested. I will pm you my email.

Hello, I've abandoned forums for Slack channels; please send me an invite. We can set up an automated registration like that used by networkToCode (https://networktocode.herokuapp.com/)
