Hey guys,

Decided to move on from my old job at a small company (~100 employees). I am now working for a medium sized business (~1000 employees). Seems to be the perfect mix of large + small enterprise. I got a lot to do, and they invest properly into their IT because they realize that without proper design and redundancy it costs them.

cheers!

Good stuff, LynK!

For your new employer, do they have production lines that need to be segmented? If so, you'll have some fun with that part.  >:D

@dean,

Actually no... it is all together on what network from what I can see. I have a lot of work to do... the guy here decided to not use VPC with 2 7ks.... but has everything dual homed.... which makes no sense. I am still trying to figure out that one.

All of the manufacturing stuff is all serial/proprietary connections, that then go to Ethernet to a ERP system. Pretty interesting.

Thanks... it was tough to leave the small company. I liked all of them, but they lost one contract and I they didn't want to upgrade 80% of their infrastructure (original 6500's/4500's). But ownership was great, and they treated me well.

Sometimes, you just have to face facts and take a job that will be better than the one you left...

Good luck! Manufacturing plants tend to invest a lot in their network and HA solutions :)

About the vPC, do you mean towards access switches or inside the DC?
