2nd router behind first

Im using Surfshark VPN on one computer on my nework.  The VPN has a software Kill Switch so when it drops the VPN it cuts traffic to my computer.  It works ok but Didnt one time now Im nurvous.  I was going to install the VPN on my Linksys router but it does not have that option.  i dont want to flash with 3rd party software so.
Can I install an older 2nd router just for my computer thats flashed with something like DD-WRT or Tomato then install Surfshark on that for a little extra security in case my VPN drops on my compter

You can likely get the second router from a multi-NIC Raspberry Pi device, since you only need that one feature active and you won't need a full-blown, full-featured router hardware to do that job.

My only question would be how the router's VPN and the PC's VPN interact with each other. Do you know if others have done that setup successfully?

No I dont know if someone else has done that.  I have 3 or 4 old routers already and no pie.  My LAN IP's starts at 192.168.4.2 so Im assuming that I would use DHCP and start LAN adresses like 192.168.5.2 router being 5.1, on the second router  or could I still use 192.168.4.100 (4.99 is where my existing router leaves off)
So your thinking that once a VPN is established through a router you cant have a second VPN (tunnel) through the existing VPN.

I think they can tunnel, just wondering what happens on the Surfshark end - do they allow multiple VPNs on your account? Or do you just maintain the VPN on the router and let the PC traffic play within it?
