OK, we need some cool bling to add to our sigs. That's right, I'm talking images. Forum badges.

I'd like the folks here with artistic skillz to cook up some badges. I'd like to start with a badge for each major specialization. People with expertise in those areas would add them to their sigs. Tie 'em together with a theme and run with them.

Routing, Switching, Wireless, Voice, Video, Security, Data Center, Service Provider, Belkin

OK, the last one is a joke badge... Don't feel compelled to make it. Post your set of badges here and folks will be free to add them to their sigs.

As time goes on, we'll have other badges/awards/battle decorations to add. For now, let's see what kind of specialization badges we can get.

:awesome:
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

i dunno, personally speaking I'm not sure where the boundaries lie with this stuff.
Do I put a DC or a SP badge for example? I know a lot re: both but I'm no nexus expert of MPLS guru. (but I can stand up a 5k/2k or build a basic MPLS-VPN).

Both. If you feel like answering questions in those areas, you wear those badges. Do I know everything about security? No. Will I wear that badge with pride and search high and low to find the answers in that area if I don't know them offhand? You betcha!

Think of them as a commitment to be your best in that area.

Are they going to be "earned"? Or will you just wear what you think you can answer? Either way, will there be a way to take away a badge? For instance, if someone has a badge, but only gives partial answers, doesn't follow through, and even blatantly just doesn't seem to care.

The badges come with honor. If the honor seems to be lacking, then that's an opportunity for me and other senior members to do some coaching.
Let's not argue. Let's network!
