PS. when having multiple quotes in a post, the forum screws up the quotes. I had to edit it all so it made sense! Can we update the forum? The UI looks like I've time-travelled back to 2003.

SHORT RESPONSE: The forum is at the latest version of code, should be good to go.

LONGER RESPONSE WITH GOOD-NATURED JOKING AROUND:

2003 is the new 2015, get with it, bro.

Speaking of 2003, the Teen Girl Squad likes the layout here.

OK, seriously, though, it's a clean format, and clean formats will stand the test of time. The spacing is appropriate to browser width, the fonts are easy to read, and the color scheme is easy on the ol' eyes. SMF have been making forums for a very long time, and they got their act together. Also, if you check out the Juniper forums, they have the same setup as we do, even if their smilies aren't as cool.

:matrix:

If you look at GUI trends, we had flat in 1993, more colors in 1995, increasing 3D starting in 2000 and peaking in 2007, and then a return to flatness in Windows 8 not too long ago. Now, Microsoft plans to get back to the 1995-style GUI in Windows 10, so maybe 2003 *is* the new 2015? Just sayin'.

Then again, I just looked at a picture of Tron Guy. Kinda glad it's not 2003 all over again. Although I do miss regular SBemails...

:D

I agree with the flatness approach and I agree with all of your comments. Not sure why my post messed up then :S

Can we make the UI a bit more crap then so it falls in-line with the UI trend that M$ seem to be setting? :D

Be specific on the year of the crap you want to emulate, and I'll try to dial it in.

Actually, getting another skin to work with the board also involves making sure that all the tweaks for the mods get made to each skin. That's a huuuuuuuuuuge pain in the painful place.

It has to be either pre '98 or post 2014.
