If you have missed it the Oculus Rift+Oculus Touch is on sale for ~$400.  I am afraid that this is a last ditch effort to save it... but not so scared that I didn't buy one.  The vive looks better, but $400 vs $800 seems worth it to me.

I do too much security to feel comfortable with blinding myself to play a game.

I gots to have my peripheral vision unblocked.
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

you can see in all directions, looking around in 360 degrees, up and down ... no peripheral vision is blocked.

No, I gotta see what's happening all around me in real life. I sit with my back to the wall to help keep that sector from being easily breached. In restaurants, I prefer sitting with a good view of the door in case some hitman enters to do a contract on someone dining there.

I'd also need a 400 dollar GPU (probably moar right now with mining craze) to get a decent experience, to get half the market, and line zuck's pockets to boot. Plus I don't have room to setup a full motion setup

I almost pulled the trigger on the HTC Vive during the Amazon Prime event a few days ago.  I am glad I didn't, I read afterwards that they recommend a 15'x15' clear space for full-motion.  Otherwise, they recommend just using it while sitting.  I am not sure a lot of people have 15'x15' space available where their gaming PC is setup.  Seems quite a large area to me.

The space in front of my desk is only ~5x5 or less and the only game I have had issues with so far is Super Hot VR, and my PC is ~5 years old (other than the video card).

Dieselboy

I had the PS4 VR for a while but there wasn't much content and it's weird being shut off like that. When I first got it I was trying it out at home and when I took the headset off, the sun had set and it was pitch dark inside the house and I didn't even realise.  :XD: I'd like to see it develop more before I give it another go. The wires weren't fun and setting it up was complex in terms of positioning and things.

15x15 is 225 square feet or about 20 sq. meters. The only space in my property with that kind of room is known as "outside".

I'd have the room, but I'd have to empty out my garage full of crap, and park on the street.

I have a carport, and getting rid of the support column in the middle would be needed to get that clear space... but then it would really clear some space when the roof caves in...
