LinkedIn Job Roulette: A career suicide game?

In the July 18, 2017 Ask The Headhunter Newsletter, LinkedIn members reveal how they use the network to commit career suicide. Question Do you think LinkedIn has lost whatever promise it once had for people hoping participation would lead to job leads and better positions? I get what he is saying, but at the same time I do not agree with dismissing Linkdin as a tool entirely. Linkdin is how my current employer found me.

To be sure, it's a tool that can be used properly, once one has some education about it. It's no magic wand, not for the recruiter and not for the job-seeker.

There must have been an acronym on your profile that means something else to developers from what it means to networkers that triggered his search filter.

Pat yourself on the back when you get offered a CIO role. I'm wondering if I put "I managed to keep my sanity" under my 11 years of teaching experience if that would translate as 11 years of management experience...
