Hello good people,

I'm super new to networking, just bought a new home, and I've got an offer from Frontier and signed up for 2G Fiber Internet. I had Netgear Orbi (RBRE960B) as a router. I'm getting 2G+ speeds on the out from the router to a switch. My switch is Netgear (MS510TXUP) it supports 2.5G (1-4) and 10G (5-8port).

The thing is, when I hooked everything up it was working fine, I could get 2G+ from the switch LED were green. But I had to reset my router and updated firmware on a router and for some reason switch is no longer working for me properly. I tried resetting it, unplugging it didn't helped.

I'm looking for advice on where to look next, I'm a super noob and open to recommendations and suggestions.

Thank you

If you are using the Cat6 ethernet cable that shipped with the Orbi for the 2G connection, that is good - keep doing that. If not... well.. better do it! :D You also want to be sure it's using the 2.5G port on the Orbi.

You might want to log on to the router via orbilogon.com and check on diagnostics for the port you're using. https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBKE963B/RBRE960B_RBSE960B_UM_EN.pdf has info on page 107 about what to look for there. See if that gives you any info and if you can modify the settings. If not, the information will still be useful when you call Orbi tech support.

Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.
