Yay Friday! I am taking my son to see Star Wars tonight. Nothing like father/son bonding time. :D

The new star wars is great, I have a few complaints I'll try and vent monday so no spoilers (although they wouldn't be large spoilers at all)

I liked the new Star Wars. I as well had a complaint or two that I am not going to discuss until the weekend is over but overall I can say it was much better than TPM and we can all be thankful for that lol.

I've heard the same about it, but I've had to read some spoiler threads to make sure for myself that it would be good. I think it'll be worth a go. I don't mind knowing how a movie is going to turn out before I see it. Heck, I watch war movies... no way to put in an unexpected plot twist for those...

Ok here is my whining (no real spoilers).  I didn't like the casting of the new Vader, he looks to much like Snape (from Harry Potter) and Smoke looks to much like Voldemort (Also from HP).  Anyway I want a bad guy who looks intimidating, not like someone who would get a swirly in high-school.

I am also sick of them making Sith Lords emo losers who are "So torn about being evil".  No one could have accused the original Vader of being a whinny emo bitch.

Also didn't like the lack of a coherent plot

And lastly a Sith stood on a skinny walk-way (with no guard rails) over a never ending pit and didn't fall in... Seriously it's like part of their life cycle. I can only think of 1 movie Sith who didn't die in a pit related incident.
The emporor: Thrown into a pit
Vader: Fell in a pit of lava almost dying, then died helping said emperor fulfill his pit based life cycle
Maul: Cut in half and thrown down a pit
Tyranus: Sadly had his head cut-off before he could find a pit to die in.

I agree on Ren being a wuss. Wasn't an impressive bad guy other than the opening scene (that was actually pretty sweet how that was done). They actually start him out as a really bad-ass mofo and then as the movie goes on he just gets more teenager temper tantrum wussy. My other biggest complaint was that super boring anti-climatic ending.

Yeah after that 1st scene with him in it I thought they had a good bad-guy... but then they made him into a wuss
