Dean, you had a good week of picks last week 13/16,  I was trying to make a comeback, picking some upsets, and all I did was get myself upset. I think I fell behind another 6 games. :(

Yeah, last week turned out to be... predictable... Although I thought I'd messed up on the CIN-PIT pick when I went to bed last night and it was still 20-10 in CIN's favor. That was one brutal, brutal game. Seems wrong to even call it a "game", more like a series of organized muggings.

Another bad week of pics for the early games, Dean also.
Hope I do better for the late games.

Indeed. There was so much upset this week, even *Cleveland* almost won a game! If my picks for PIT-BAL and NE-MIA work out, I can make .500 for the week.

This much for sure, I did not expect Cam Newton to show up at the press conference wearing a fez.

So did Carson Wentz... that's so Philly for ya. Clinches division title, closer to home field advantage through the NFC playoffs... and it may all mean nothing if they're depending upon Foles to be the QB that beats Brady (or Roethlisberger) in the Super Bowl... after surviving through all the playoffs...

Boy, that end to the Patriots and Steelers game yesterday was exciting, thrilling, and confirmation why football is such a great game.

Came right down to the end on that one, as did the Cowboys-Raiders game. Carolina's win was unexpected, but nevertheless fun to watch.

BTW, Ristau, the 49ers have a QB now. Watch for them to win a lot more often with the guy they got under center. That kid is hot.

Cowboys are knocked out of the playoffs because they decided to give 3 touchdowns to Seattle.

Never, NEVER spot the opposition three big scores. That's a tip for all you young people, looking to get ahead in life.

The Seattle defense (and Cowboy penalties) won that game for them. Bryant also just had a real bad day. So now if Seattle can win one more, and the Panthers can beat the Ravens then Seattle will be in the playoffs.

We also had the best play of the year this weekend when the Saints Lattimore caught an interception with his butt. Then to top it off there was the butt fumble from the Falcons in the same game.

I like the Saints' chances in the postseason. Eagles looked disappointing vs. Oakland, and that's not a good way to go into the playoffs with home field advantage.

Dean

i got one game back, 13 correct to your 12,  not gonna make up the difference though unless you pick all losers, your picks have been pretty good this season.  I could have been much closer but I started to pick upsets to make up some ground and didn't pick winners

I've also been pretty good at picking the Texas 2A High School games. I got a friend that does my yard who's over 80 and he always calls me up to get scores for these games that the local paper doesn't write about.

It's a long story, but the net is that I read up on football so we can have some fun conversations. The knock-on is that I also get to have a potential "in" with customers where the staff follows the games.

Tell you what though, of all the upsets I didn't pick this week, I think the 49ers might be one that happens. Garropolo has really brought that team together.

We only got 6 games picked right yesterday. While it's common for teams heading into the playoffs to take it easy and send out the second stringers for week 17, there were some uncomfortable signs... Philadelphia, in particular. That was a team that needed Foles to keep things together, get more snaps with the team, and get the system together. That didn't happen, and I'm very concerned about them lasting in the playoffs.

49ers beat the Rams because they got a legit QB. Watch out for them next year, they're gonna be hot.

Pittsbugh is my other worry: they've been so inconsistent this year, and they nearly lost to Cleveland yesterday. CLEVELAND.

and the ravens, oh ravens,  had that game... and it was all on them.   They sure didn't play like a playoff team 1st half, but were looking good in the second,  it they had played in the first half like they did in the second half, they'd have won that game easily.
Hanging up my Ravens hat for the year.  Rooting for the underdog Bills, who haven't even seen the playoffs since 1999.
