I was using EM for a while no issue. At this time, the userID for EM was for example like this: "tsmith".

Then came a requirement to change the user ID of the users in CUCM so that it matches the user ID of that for Webex Teams. Now the userID in CUCM is (example): "timmy.smith@domain.cloud".

So the problem is the length of time it takes to type out the email address on a phone number pad. Many of our users have non-Christian names and so can be very long indeed! In short, it's painful.

I was looking around for a solution to this problem and I found this Cisco doc. (below). Now we're able to log in using primary extension as the user ID. I can confirm it works!

In short, edit the EM URL service and append "&loginType=DN" like this:

http://<ip>:8080/emapp/EMAppServlet?device=#DEVICENAME#&loginType=DN

In addition to the above I also set the CUCM service parameter of "Alphanumeric User ID" to false so that the userID field on the phone only accepts numbers.

Nice and fast EM login now :)
