Hey guys.

Took my NP Route back in '17 and never finished the switch + tshoot. I want to get them done so I can get NP before feburary.

Right now I have 2 vouchers through global knowledge and the video course through them. What other books/crap should I buy for the switch, and what else should I get for the tshoot?

TSHOOT apparently only needs the book and a good lab, from what I've heard here.

Don't you also have to retake Route? I vaguely remember the three tests had to all be completed within one year of each other. I don't have any advice on materials, but TSHOOT in my opinion is pretty easy if you have been working on networks for a couple years. I have to take TSHOOT before the end of the year to renew my CCNP. It currently expires in March, and I don't want to get stuck having to use the new exams to renew.

TSHOOT IS pretty easy if you can troubleshoot,  just learn the  design you can find online,  I just took mine in September before my CCNP expired.

Otanx,

Dont scare me. Im sure it is 3 years from the first exam taken to pass all 3. So I have till February. I have reached out to my cisco SE for verification

Guys,

Can you give me details in books you used? I also have INE videos too.

I'm preparing for the TSHOOT, taking it next week. It's a long weekend here in Belgium, so I'm building the entire topology in EVE-NG.

A bit scared for the theory part though, I heard they added more questions but I guess I'll have to risk it. Deadline is 22/11 for me :(

for the troubleshooting  IPv4, just ping R1 from the PC,  if you can, the problem is on R1, if you cant, then ping R2, R3 then R4. Where the ping stops is where the troubleshooting begins.

Yes, I remember. Again, I don't worry about the main topology too much. I've taken the exam twice before, just wondering about what they changed in the latest installment.

Got the whole topology running in EVE-NG now with IPv4 and IPv6, including a Frame Relay switch for the serial links. Took me about six hours to build.

so it's down to the multiple guess.  they were certainly different my first time taking test, then last, there were also a few different TS questions.  I think you still can pass if you miss most MG questions, and get everything else right.

Passed it, we're good for another three years  :)

Congrats. Going to schedule my TSHOOT this weekend. Looking at the 9th of Dec. Still need to do my CISSP or get a new job soon as well.

I always assumed the same thing. I vaguely remember reading that somewhere on the Cisco website but it has admittedly been quite a while since I had to worry about it.

Congrats! I failed TSHOOT on my first attempt right before they added the theory questions back in '15. To pass I recreated the entire topology in GNS (or packet tracer I can't remember exactly).. then the theory questions were added and I was cringing going into the test. I did great though.. if I recall correctly I got a perfect score on the second attempt.

When I went to recertify last year I took SWITCH for some reason instead of TSHOOT.. and failed it twice!  :wall:
