Hey, yeah, it *is* a happy new year over here! Got the day off and all, back to work tomorrow.
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

I'm off to Florida next week, see my mother and brother, which I have not seen since pre-covid, since fall 2019.

Have a great time!

Well, my happy new year got wrecked on the shores of a nerve conductivity test and an EMG I had yesterday. Lost the rest of the day due to pain management. Since it was nerve pain, there wasn't much I could do besides sitting still and enduring twitches, cramps, and occasional stabs of pain. Still having some residual effects today, hoping I don't get a permanent deterioration in my condition from the test.

That's not good, I hope you get sorted quickly!
My lower back discs (L4, mostly) had moved and were squeezing my spinal chord back in November/December. I was in literal tears and couldnt walk.

Just about a week later and most things are back to normal. Still some sensitivity in my lower back, but the rest is where it usually is.

yeah, I slept badly or more so incorrectly NYE, int NY, brought my back to the edge of going out or not, I've picked up my back exercised again, and started wearing my back support back from Home Depot,  it really helps the support for the lower back,.  other then the California cancer warnings. I wear it outside my clothes, not against skin. don't wear the suspenders, just tuck them in.

I was at a loss with mine. I've always been careful with my back, always lifting carefully.
I just remember back in March 2022, standing up from being cross-legged on the floor whilst packing my rucksack and halfway standing up, immense pain, both legs had instant pins and needles. Had never felt so much pain before that.
When it started hurting again whilst working from home I was wondering how I could get it sorted. I was thinking to myself "operation????". Pretty scary.

I went to a recommended chiropractor here in Australia - x-rays were taken first so that put me at ease a little bit. After the first "adjustment" I felt the nerve not being pinched anymore. My back was still in pain when I stood up but it wasnt so much on the verge of keeling over. I could feel an immediate improvement. Then over the course of the next three hours I was able to walk almost fine. I just went home and sat in a comfy office chair.

The x-rays showed that my spine had rotated around clockwise in the lower portion (around L4). So while it was straight when looking from outside, it was rotated on the inside.

The good thing is, I could feel a lump in my spine where L4 stuck out a bit more than the others. I dont have this anymore and no pain.

I dont recommend chiro - but I did see the doctor after the March incident and apart from strong medication, they didnt do anything positive for me. I have been going for around 6-8 weeks now at this point. I dont look forward to it at all but after each appointment I improve.
