Well my company just had a massive set of firings yesterday.  All the layoffs before were performance based and those are fine, I can survive any performance based layoffs ever. The ones yesterday were "we need to fire X people in X departments, I don't give a shit who".  We lost one of our best windows admins because he was in a certain department and kept ones who can't find their backside with both hands cause they were in a different area.
:jackie-chan:

(one of the firings was an asshole move so large I don't think I am willing to put it on a public forum)

I think I'll try the Raleigh-Durham area. (I need to stay on the east cost as my in-laws are quite old.)  So if anyone knows of anything in the Raleigh-Durham area please let me know.

Arbitrary and irresponsible are the two words that immediately come to mind.

I have a ton of defense sector recruiters on my Linked-in. If you want access to my network say the word.

I've found Indeed to be a good resource. Even though a company many not post directly with Indeed they still advertise the job. And once you do a search it remembers it. So tomorrow when you open the app it will tell you how many new jobs match that search. Pretty sweet for quick and free. Had an HR guy tell me that it's a win-win because they don't ask for anything, they scour job postings on the web, and then re-post them with a link to the original.
