Passed ARCH today! Was a close call. I honestly think this exam could've been broken down into 3 different exams. Such a wide range of information. Overall I learned ALOT while studying for this exam and will definitely be keeping the books on my desk going forward!

Well done, how hard would you compare it to other certs?

I think it depends on your job. I do routing and switching everyday at work and not a whole lot of design. I don't work with Nexus or virtualization, so that kind of hurts.

As far as the cert itself. I think SWITCH and ROUTE were easier. They are concentrated and specific. This cert is not like any other I have taken (Except the obvious CCDA). It's such a huge breadth of information. Very good to soak it all in though.

My NP is up for refresh in 2016 so still on the fence what to do. It would be good to do a refresh on the routing stuff first. I also started reading the CCDA book some time ago but got bored at chapter 1

Thanks everyone!!! Had to get it done, they are changing the ARCH exam in December. Now debating moving up in the Juniper cert world or starting my CCIE studies. .

There is never a good time to start your CCIE studies :)

everything you do until you take the CCIE seriously is just another way of procrastinating the CCIE :)

I have learnt that lesson the hard way, so wish I took it seriously before wife/kids etc.....

Can't say I disagree.  Among all route/switch certifications out there currently, the CCIE is undeniably the most thorough, structured, and valuable certification out there in my opinion.  I'm still planning on doing it, at least slowly, so I can improve my skill set.  I just have to try to remember the instances here and there where the rest of the world operates a little differently than Cisco says it should. ;)

I also wish I hadn't fell off the bandwagon after getting my NP and enjoyed the break so much... now three years later I'm trying to nail down the CCIE written to recert by Mid-December, with two young kids and no energy to even stay up late anymore... ;P

hahaha all my kids are older, so I can study for my CISSP whenever I want to.

"CISSP? I thought we were talking about CCIE?"
"He's in security."
"Ohhhhhhh..."

LOL. . .

Yea, this was a good cert to knock out for me. I definitely plan on getting my CCIE but don't like the idea of having all of my eggs in 1 basket. That is the reason I want to pursue the JNCIS-ENT. I know I have to keep moving and keep the momentum rolling so I am going to start studying in a week or so. I noticed that if I take more than 2 weeks off it becomes VERY hard to start back up!
