Pretty sure I already know the answer - I need a voice license for the router to do the below.

I have a 2901 router with security license. I would like to plug in a POTS line so I can take incoming calls on a Cisco desk phone or jabber softphone.

I need a VIC2-FXO and a PVDM3-16

I have also just remembered I need a voice license for the router, too.

Have I missed anything else?  :-X

Out of curiosity, why bother with POTS in this day and age? Or is this somewhere where SIP is not easy to get?

SIP is definitely not easy to get in SL. They have a landline phone which is actually a CDMA / mobile phone-like, but a desk phone. Think of a desk phone which has an antenna like a 3G card in a Cisco router...

It's good because it's portable.
It's bad because being portable, signal / quality isn't always good, and the reception girl has a 2nd phone to be responsible for.
My goal is to plumb it into the phone system and allow her to make and receive calls either through her Cisco desk phone or Cisco Jabber. If the unit had a SIM card I was looking at plugging in a card that takes a SIM for voice (didn't look into it) but the company that provide us with this phone have said they can swap the phone unit out for a box which gives a POTS line as it doesn't have a SIM (I guess it must be hard-soldered).

Plus the other benefit is that POTS is pretty easy to manage. And if she goes home, she can still receive calls through jabber.

I wouldn't get POTS line installed for voice calls. SIP is WAY cheaper. But we have pots lines for ADSL and fax in Aus. I'm getting the phone company to provide me with a POTS line as it's the only way I can link it in to the phone system.
