Mixed feelings about the over-ears... sound quality is amazing, but then my ears get very sweaty, very quickly.

Can't believe I hadn't followed you yet on Mixcloud - fixed that (I'm DJ 3L3V8).

I have vmoda headphones and love them - but yes, I do definitely take them off frequently - they not only can get warm, but I like to have my full attention/hearing ability on my incoming mix.

Speaking of mixes, I had a, what I would call successful anyway, mix I recently uploaded - Top 100 in multiple genres:
https://www.mixcloud.com/3l3v8/dj-3l3v8-electro-mixtape-1/

Also, if you like something a little more chill:
https://www.mixcloud.com/3l3v8/dj-3l3v8-mixtape-2-sunrise-ambiance/

I took an online class on how to edit/level/master recorded mixes using Audacity and it was IMMENSELY helpful...

Sad to say, I seem to be MUCH more interested in DJ stuff than networking lately.... just wondering how long I can keep my job. ;P I've caught my Dad's bug (he's an actual musician) - I rarely even play video games anymore which is UNHEARD of for me... lol.

Upgraded my kit from a Traktor S2 to a Traktor S4, got a really nice pair of Yamaha HS8 studio monitors and loving it.  I now broadcast live regularly on Mixify.com and Slipmat.io.

You know it's really bad when you use GNS3 to set up your DJ system...
Take a baseball bat and trash all the routers, shout out "IT'S A NETWORK PROBLEM NOW, SUCKERS!" and then peel out of the parking lot in your Ferrari.

It was Omnigraffle ;P  But yeah...

And just imagine... I have some friends with absolutely nuts setups... turntables+mixers+CDJs+multiple webcams so they can broadcast multiple angles... one guy posted his and I was like... where do you fit all that crap!

Susscribed to Mr. Arista just now and I have music to review firewall configurations to. :)

Dude how great are the HS8 monitors! I've had mine for about 18 months and I love them to bits. Your setup looks good. That's good your dad is a musician!

I have a slot on my friends radio show but I've not yet had the balls to actually do it. I'm playing out tomorrow evening though. Not really had the time to mix much, after I finish work there's not much time until it's too late to make noise. I plan on being on there all day saturday before I play out though. And as it's Friday I'll be on there after dinner after work as well.

Depending on the time you're streaming I'm keen to log on and have a listen.

So I've made a good purchase on the VMODA then? :) They're still in transit from the US. I've also got a DX650 ebay special that's somewhere in the air now I think also coming from the US. (DX was only about $200 USD!)

Thanks for the subscribe :) I did wonder who that was :)

I realised recently that this track which is the instrumental version of a real popular track I remember hearing all the time when i was a kid; sounds real similar to something like Soul II Soul and just echoes early 90s all through it. I like it:

OK... challenge time... incorporate one of the songs from this woman's channel into a mix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI18Z1CzWmI

And, yes, she makes the animal noises you hear... see this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeAp1fPt8Eg

Or this one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SMvVUyxpvQ

Crazy amazing...

Sorry my response has been terrible lately.

Heh - if I can find spare time I'll accept that challenge - could be fun.. but again.. it seems I never have time lately and I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to production.  Trying to keep my job and stay married is a challenge enough with the DJ habit alone ;P

Yes - LOOVVVEEE the HS8s... when there are vocals it sounds like someone's in the room with you so crystal clear - it's like listening to completely different music.

Yes definitely think you made a good purchase with VMODA - no complaints with mine thus far outside of the mild heat build-up - use them for pretty much everything.

As an update, a group of folks in LA which is right up the road from me opened a great new site for streaming DJs last July - Grooveo.com.  So now I spin there as they sometimes talk huge clubs into letting them showcase Grooveo's best DJs - so I'm trying to win one of those spots - would be wild to spin in a super club like that.  They had a showcase just last week at Exchange LA (http://exchangela.com/) and have been featured in DJ Mag.

Actually - that first one is super easy - just throw it in with your typical 134(ish) BPM Psy Trance mix...

It's funny - I grew up in the EDM world with Trance... but I don't spin it, and I don't really like it anymore unless it's Progressive Trance.

I've slacked the past few months. Not looking forward to getting back into it as I'll be crap with mixing for a little while unless I'm lucky. The headphones will help with beatmatching but blending tracks together that sound good takes concentration! Although there's no better feeling when you've picked the right tracks and you dont really have to do anything except go with it; because you know it sounds good.

I'll add that yesterday I wore my VMODAs for like... 6 or 7 hours straight while flying and the only thing I noticed was a little soreness just from having them on so long.

Wow, those are good headphones... do they have some kind of dehumidifier going on?
